Miley Ray Cyrus was born Destiny Hope Cyrus on November 23, 1992, in Franklin, Tennessee and raised in Thompson's Station, Tennessee to Tish Cyrus and Billy Ray Cyrus. She is the eldest of five siblings. They include two younger brothers and sisters. The family named her Miley as she was a great chance for them. Miley became her childhood name Smiley because of its cheerfulness. Ron Cyrus is her Democratic politician grandfather. Cyrus first attended Heritage Elementary School in Tennessee. When she turned eight and her family relocated from Tennessee to Toronto, Canada, where Cyrus her dad Billy Ray took a role in the TV show Doc (2001). Around this time, Cyrus also decided to be an actor. The first role she played was alongside her dad in Doc (2001). In 2003, she starred in an unimportant character in Tim Burton's Big Fish. Cyrus was cast in 2005 to be the lead of the Disney TV series Hannah Montana, which is about a teenager who lives a dual life. Cyrus was accompanied by her father again. After the show's success, the show was followed by hit albums, sold-out tour dates as well as deals on merchandise. Cyrus was a teenage phenomenon. Cyrus shifted into new characters following the popularity and fame that came from Hannah Montana 2006. She played Ronnie Miller, alongside Demi Moody as Demi Mood in The Last Song in 2010 and Lola with Demi in LOL in 2012.
